The Audi R8 is already an accomplished and established supercar that delivers blistering performance, slalom astute handling and a clinical German design, offered in Coupe and Spyder propelled by that screaming natural air-breathing V10 engine. Couple that with a shrewd four wheel drive Quattro system and you have a winner.
Of the two available body styles, can you imagine an Avant variant? A mid-engined two door wagon to haul you golf clubs in a hurry that’s what!
You’d be forgiven if you think this exist as such a skill by Rian Prisk is that briliant. This dude, a digital artist has taken the liberty of rendering such an absurd combination and subsequently an R8 Shooting Brake was born. Admittedly it looks good and really a convincing proposition. From the muscular wheel arches hips, low-slung stance and sloping wagon roof reminiscent of the Volkswagen Scirocco.
While it will not happen (at least officially from Audi) it is not entirely something of a taboo, seeing that there is a Ferrari FF, Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake and who could forget the 1999 BMW Z3 M Coupe?
We paid attention to this R8 chop-job for it’s unusual configuration that catches the eye. You’d get something like this if you’re not in need of an RS6 Avant, love the R8 but need a tiny bit more space and something different.
If only it were real, that’d be real Vorsprung.
